Gallipoli Association secretary Margaret Carter paid tribute to the fallen on the Greek island of Lemnos this week. Accompanied by Gallipoli Association members Dimitris Boulotis, who lives on the island, and Steve Moore they conducted simple, short ceremonies at the two CWGC Cemeteries in East Mudros and Portianou.

Margaret laid locally made wreaths of bay leaves. They played a recording of the last post followed by a moment of reflection. The service concluded with Margaret saying the words of ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon.
