The Trustees of the Gallipoli Association are looking to fill the position of Honorary Secretary which has unexpectedly fallen vacant.
This is a voluntary position and the person appointed will be a Trustee of the Association and will serve on its Board of Management. The Gallipoli Association is continuing to grow and currently has a membership of about 950.
The Hon Secretary is a key post within the charity responsible to the Board of Trustees through the Chairman for arranging Trustees’ and General meetings and for the sound administration of the Gallipoli Association. The Secretary is the first point of contact for members seeking advice on Association activities/matters and those approaching the Association for the first time.

The successful candidate with be an integral member of a small team of Trustees, who is able to work collaboratively, accepts compromise, retains flexibility and supports the decisions of the group. The individual should be well organised with good oral and written communication skills, developed general IT skills, including email use and appropriate protocols, patience and resilience in arranging and resolving Association matters and has the time available to attend to these duties.
This is an important and responsible position. The applicant should be a member of the Gallipoli Association, or be willing to become a member. Ideally, and should have experience of a similar role.
The position provides great opportunity for the incumbent to be part of important and high profile commemorative events, while at the same time contributing to an enjoyable and worthwhile charity.
